An L-shaped sofa describes the layout, not a complete product specification. Before requesting a custom version, identify the seating sections, arm positions and optional functions separately. A photograph or upholstery seam does not establish which parts detach, which arrangements are permitted or which functions are included.
Name the sections before choosing the features
Use these terms to discuss the requested arrangement, then ask the supplier to match each section to a part reference. The table does not confirm that every section is available for the pictured design.

Mark each requested feature as included, optional or unavailable. Do not count a chaise or armless section as a powered seat solely because the whole sofa is described as “functional.”
Approve one configuration record
Ask for a labelled plan and a matching section list with part references, quantities, arm positions, connectors and any surfaces left exposed when sections are separated. If another arrangement matters, have that arrangement confirmed too; a visible joint does not prove reversibility. Write the supplier’s viewing convention beside any left/right label.
